We supply and install a wide range of air conditioning units for residential, commercial and industrial applications and we will gladly submit a proposed design for more elaborate projects. We also provide support services for air conditioning systems, such as repairs and servicing of the equipment. The most widely-used types of air conditioning units are described hereunder. Please refer to the galleries to view examples of each type of unit, as installed by us.

Split air conditioning units

These units, with separate indoor and outdoor units, are the most popular, cost effective types of unit for residential air conditioning. They are available in a wide range of capacities (up to 30 000 BTU’s ) and the larger units will even suit some commercial applications. The indoor units come in a range of different designs, making them ideal for easily blending into the existing décor of a room or area of your home.

Cassette air conditioning units

With this type of unit the indoor unit is mounted discreetly in the ceiling. These units are available in capacities up to 48 000 BTU’s, making them ideal for commercial applications. They are becoming more popular in residential homes where larger rooms or open-planned areas need to be cooled or heated evenly.

Underceiling air conditioning units

These units are available in capacities of up to 60 000 BTU’s, making them ideal for large commercial applications where there is no space in the ceiling void for a cassette-type or ducted unit. Many of these units can also be installed as floor-standing units.

Ducted/Concealed air conditioning units

These units are ideal for residential properties and commercial premises. The indoor unit is entirely concealed in the ceiling void, with only the diffusers and return-air grill visible in the ceiling. Some commercial customers choose a so-called exposed ducted installation whereby no ceiling is constructed, leaving the air ducts visible and thereby adding to a modern, industrial appearance for the premises. These units are available in capacities ranging from 12 000 to 200 000 BTU’s

VRV/VRF air conditioning units

Simply put, this is a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) or variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system with one outdoor condensing unit and multiple indoor units. The term “variable refrigerant volume” refers to the ability of the system to control the amount of refrigerant that flows to each of the evaporators (indoor units), enabling the use of a number of evaporators of differing capacities and configurations connected to a single condensing unit. The system therefore provides individualized comfort control with simultaneous heating and cooling in different zones.

These systems are ideal for office buildings or large upmarket properties with a number of rooms that require simultaneous but individualized air conditioning.
